St. David’s Society Jakarta’s Visit in Support to Young Voices Indonesia
On the 15th of March, 2 executive representatives of the Jakarta St David’s Society, Mrs. Heather Powell and Mrs. Kim Grant Woolley visited Wisma Cheshire. Their visit was special because they came with donations that they raised from its annual Society Dinner to be dedicated specially to support the activities of the Young Voices Indonesia (YVI), a group of young difabel people – under Wisma Cheshire – who is raising social awareness and campaigning the difabel’s rights. One of the key strategies of Young Voices Indonesia 2018 is to promote the initiative through social media. YVI’ Jakarta representative Ms. Wulaninka had a wonderful time explaining the program with Mrs. Powel and Mrs. Woolley. Mrs. Barbara Speirs was very grateful on receiving this donation and handed a thank you certificate as our gratitude to St David Society. Some of these donation funds will be used by YVI’ Aceh branch to rent a small house for their regular meetings place for a whole year starting July 2018. This is such a wonderful and well meaning gift from St David Society.
