Humbang Hasundutan Regency Visits Wisma Cheshire
On 2nd February, the Humbang Hasundutan Regency of North Sumatra together with the CSR team of Sinar Mas Insurance visited Wisma Cheshire to learn about its programmes and facilities.
Delegates from both groups were welcomed by Mrs. Petty Elliott, Wisma Cheshire staff and residents. The aim of this visit was for the Regency and Sinar Mas Insurance to gain knowledge of the different activities and programmes run by Wisma Cheshire. Humbang Hasundutan regency plans to expand the work of its learning centre, Rumah Kreatif, to help train people with disability in their community.
It was a pleasure to welcome Ms. Linda Kristina (Head of Board National Handicrafts) and Mr, Iman Purba (Provincial Sub-Project Management of Social Minister) from Humbang Hasundutan Regency, as well as Ms. Dumasi Samosir (Director) and Ms. Purwandari (Head of Division CRM) from PT Sinar Mas Insurance. Hopefully, Wisma Cheshire’s vocational training in handicrafts and woodwork and the supporting facilities (dorm, workshop, wheelchair-accessible vehicle and so on) can inspire others to never look down on a person with disability, but rather to see them as a friend who may be different, but is still just the same human being.
